Great Ring Farm is a small, sustainably managed flower farm in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, dedicated to growing unique, seasonal blooms for our community.
● About
Great Ring Farm is a small-scale, semi-urban farm in Sandy Hook. We have lived here since 2003, and our foray into farming began with a small vegetable garden, driven by the goal of eating healthy, delicious food. This eventually led to chickens for pasture-raised eggs, and then goats for their delicious milk. Caring for our land and animals provided the foundation for the farm.
A concern for the environment, along with a desire to connect with our community, led us to make the leap into flower farming in the fall of 2022.
We grow using sustainable practices that minimize soil disturbance to build healthy soil and avoid the harsh chemical fertilizers and harmful insecticides and fungicides typical of imported flowers. We cultivate an extensive selection of native pollinator plants alongside a diverse range of annuals, providing unique, locally grown flowers that offer a beautiful and meaningful way to connect with our community
